This year, OVGU will once again take part in the Magdeburg Marathon, a major regional event in the running and walking community, known for its family-friendly atmosphere.

The 22nd Magdeburg Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Everyone is welcome to participate – whether you are a recreational runner or walker or a marathon runner.

We combine health coaching with a focus on running. This course is especially designed for participants who have taken a break from sports or have never really exercised before and now want to get back into it—the running event is, of course, not a requirement, but a great goal.
You’re also welcome to participate if you have prior experience.
The course includes strength-training exercises and theoretical content based on sports science.

Summer Sports Festival at SH3 on Campus – Come join us!

On June 23 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sports Hall 3 and the outdoor area will be transformed into a hub for sports, exercise, and a great atmosphere.

Look forward to exciting small-field soccer and basketball tournaments, each featuring up to 12 teams. You can also try out new activities at various sports workshops—ranging from martial arts and dance to relaxation and games.

At Campus FIT, an open house and a strength contest await you in front of the sports hall. Our sports groups will showcase their skills with a variety of performances and demonstrate what they’re capable of. For our younger guests, the OVGU Family Office will provide fun activities and games.

Of course, refreshments will be available: grilled food and drinks will be on hand for a small fee.
