Academic Bicycle Challenge (ABC)

The Academic Bicycle Challenge is taking place again this year, and under the motto “Moving OVGU Together,” we’ll be participating once more during the campaign month of June 2026.

As in previous years, your rides will be tracked using the “Naviki” app. If you don’t have the app on your smartphone yet, you can download it from the App Store and register for the competition. Detailed instructions are available here!

To give everyday cyclists a chance to make it to the podium, there will be no traditional awards ceremony this year. All participants who reach the 333 km mark during the campaign period will automatically be entered into a drawing.

Following the ABC, we will then randomly select 10 winners. For the team ranking, however, the team with the most kilometers covered will still be the winner.

Kickoff Event - June 1

For all avid cyclists, we’re hosting another kickoff event on June 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., featuring all kinds of booths related to cycling. This time, the TK Contrainer will be there (starting at 10:00 a.m.) and will offer free appointments for bike fitting and bike coaching. Another highlight of the program will be the award ceremony for the Kiplin Challenge. Here, the baton will be symbolically handed over to the cyclists of ABc.

Awards Ceremony - July 14

Where: In front of sports hall 3 (more info to follow)

 

The ABC and its accompanying events are organized by the Sports Center, the Occupational Health Management, the Student Health Management, and the Sustainability Office of the OVGU.
